Hi, I want to learn the difference between "there" and "over there". When should I use one or another. Are there rules about this? Are they the same? My English teacher corrected me, but did not know to explain this.

I would say "over there" means it is further away than if were you to just say "there". Here is a little info that might help: http://forum.wordreference.com/showthread.php?t=164596
